Millions and millions of us struggle through exhausting days filled with time-consuming duties. Sure, our jobs are important, but are they more important than our health? Sometimes, you have to choose. Especially if you're diabetic.
Executives like Evans face a special set of issues when they are diagnosed with serious or chronic diseases. Some try to keep their conditions under wraps for fear of being perceived as weak or vulnerable. Others simply want to keep their illnesses a private, family matter. But no matter how private or public a CEO or top boss is, managing a chronic condition makes balancing work and family a veritable high-wire act. And while they may have the money for top-notch treatment, many can't find the time to take care of themselves.
