Use Your Cell Phone To Balance Your Diet
Now you can put that camera phone to a better use than fuzzy portraits of friends: use it to help you manage a
healthy diet.

Cell phones come with all sorts of bells and whistles these days, and the newest one is a service that offers more than one benefit:

Among these new toys is MyFoodPhone, a service offered through Sprint that allows dieters to photograph meals and snacks with their camera phone before they eat, then instantly upload the pictures to their online MyFoodPhone account. Every two weeks a "nutritional adviser" checks the account and delivers feedback via the Web about portion sizes, nutritional content and general eating habits in the form of a video clip or notes.

A diet advisor in your phone? Pretty neat. The service costs $9.99 a month, and has finally become available in the United States, two years after the service debuted in Canada.

Although this is the first 'diet' service to use a camera phone, other companies such as Weight Watchers offer ways to keep track of your diet through your cell phone.
