Treating Diabetes With Ayurveda
Research and treatments for diabetes are growing daily, yet so is the illness. Diabetes shows no signs of slowing down, regardless of all the innovative medical treatment options available today. Is it any wonder that more and more people are turning to a more 'natural' approach? What about ayurveda?

This interesting article outlines the process.

According to ayurveda, diabetes (prameha) is caused when a person indulges in food, drinks and activities which increase medas (fat) urine and kapha, like excess of sweet, sour, salty or fatty foods at improper times and indulging in sedentary works like sitting at one place for a long time, sleep during daytime, etc.

Related to specific dosha levels, there are 20 different types of diabeteslinks : 10 for kapha, six for pitta and four for vata. Whatever be the kind of diabetes, what a physician has to see to is correct diagnosis, and determine the stage, the dosha association, and treatment for each stage.

Are you more comfortable with needles and pills, or would you be willing to take the less-traveled path to treat your diabetes?
