Tips For Dealing With The Holidays...With Diabetes
Ask anyone and they'll likely agree: the holiday season is exceptionally stressful. It can be even worse for diabetics, who face months of bombardment with temptation and treats they must avoid. How can we best deal with this potentially dangerous time of year?

This article offers some helpful tips:

"We are all exposed to a lot more food, a lot more sweets, a lot more alcohol and a lot more stress," says Cecilia Sauter, MS, RD, CDE, and director of the University of Michiganlinks Health System Diabetes Education Program. "For people with diabetes, that can be very difficult because they really need to watch portion size, when they're drinking and how much, and pay attention to how stress affects their blood sugar levels."

The author provides seven strategies for diabetics to make it safely--and sanely--through the holidays. Give it a read, and have a wonderful holiday season.
