The Best Weapon To Fight Diabetes? Your Feet!
As this inspiring article shows, getting--and staying--in shape doesn't require complicated equipment or expensive gym memberships. In fact, the best exercise you can undertake is absolutely free: walking.

Exercise is important for everyone, but especially for diabetics, as it lowers cholesterol and excess weight, and eases depression. Starting an exercise program often seems too daunting to undertake, but could anything be more simple than walking? You can even adapt it to either a solitary exercise, or a way to spend more time with your family and friends. If you're shy about walking outside at first, these DVDs provide an excellent at-home walking program. And when you make it outside, you'll likely find walking even more enjoyable.

Nearly 4000 people on the Border are diabetic and it's estimated that a further 4000 residents have undiagnosed cases of type-2 diabetes.

"Exercise is great prevention, but we believe people need psychological motivation to find an exercise that they enjoy and do regularly," Diabetes Albury-Wodonga Assistant Secretary Liz Hare said.

Why are you still sitting here? Go take a walk!
