Sled dogs are among the the most energy-efficient creatures on Earth. They have the capacity to run hundreds of miles day after day without showing the normal signs of fatigue.
Such characteristics of sled dogs could maybe help find ways to treat diabetes and obesity. Oklahoma State University professor Michael Davis agreed that could be possible.
"If we can figure out what exercise is doing to start the process, then we may be able to find how it can be applied to everyone, whether or not they are physically able to exercise.
There is a greater likelihood that something you discover in dogs will be directly relevant to humans."
It will still take a lot of research to verify the above but there is huge promise in here. Also, it specifies once more how exercise is of utmost importance in burning energy which is a lot of help in people with diabetes.
