Sew Wonderful!
Filed in archive Inspiration on May 10, 2006
With all the studies and statistics out there, sometimes we need to stop and remind ourselves that diabetes isn't about the numbers, but about people. It's about hope, courage, pain, and people who inspire us every day. That's exactly what the Children For Diabetes: Quilt For Life project is all about.
With a goal to increase awareness of Type 1 diabetes, the site is calling for submissions of 3x3" quilt squares designed by children, depicting their lives with diabetes. The goal is to collect a thousand squares. The quilt will be displayed every year at the annual children with diabetes conference, as well as other diabetic events. What a wonderful project. Please browse the site and enjoy the gallery of quilts and the inspirational stories of the artists. Maybe you even know someone who could contribute to the quilt.
