Scientists Increasingly Hopeful Of Diabetes Cure
Here is another fascinating article on the way pig cells are being transplanted into rats to cure both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Although 'primate' and 'human' trials are still years away, scientists are hopeful that this may be the big one: a cure for diabetes.

Washington University researchers have developed a potential cure for Type 2 diabetes.

The treatment has already cured rats, and it could eventually mean a second chance at health for the almost 200 million people worldwide with Type 2 diabetes, the most common form of the disease.

The researchers took tissues from pigs - tissues that would have become pancreases - and implanted them into rats. The tissues helped control blood sugar, Curinglinks the rats' diabetes for life.

Would you be willing to try this treatment?
