Omega-3s Against Diabetes

Now, we'll extrapolate some more that maybe omega-s 3 may protect against diabetes.
As reported recently in JAMA: a diet rich in fish and other sources of omega-3 fatty acids helped cut the risk that children with a family history of diabetes would develop the disease.
Take note that the most common for of diabetes in children
is type 1 diabetes formerly called juvenile diabetes.According to Jill Norris, author of the study:
"It is a relatively large effect. It is exciting because it suggests we might be able to develop nutritional interventions to prevent diabetes.
"This is the first study to show this. This is all omega-3 fatty acids, not just the kind that are found in fish.
It is certainly not time to make any recommendations until we can see this in other populations."
Well, even before then, having a omega-3 rich diet is always a healthy option. However, the difficulty will be the fact that children are generally impossible to adapt to this diet. I think that's where the problem will come in.
