What: Fourth Annual Diabetes Awareness Day
When: October 18, 2007 4-8 pm
Where: Platte County Agricultural Park
According to the Nebraska Health and Humans Services, more than 60,000 Nebraskans have been diagnosed with diabetes while an estimated another 20,000 residents have undiagnosed diabetes.

In Platte County alone: 1,076 or 3.4 percent of the county's population were known to have diabetes in 2000.
On Diabetes Awareness Day, health screenings for blood sugar, blood pressure, vision and hearing will be provided by the Columbus Lions Club.
