Hi Gloria,
My name is Libby Krah and I'm writing today on behalf of Kellogg Company. Kellogg has recently launched its new Diabetes-Friendly Seal and I wanted to take a minute and share this information with you.
As a writer for Daily Diabetic, you know that diabetes is growing at epidemic proportions with more than 20 million U.S. children and adults managing the disease. The Kellogg Company is working to make it easier for people with diabetes to choose foods that fit their needs with its new Diabetes-Friendly Seal.
This new seal is designed to help people with diabetes manage their diets while still enjoying some of their favorite foods. It is being featured on the side panel of Kellogg's ready-to-eat cereals that meet specified criteria. These nutrition criteria, based on those of third-party, science-based organizations, require that each serving of a ready-to-eat cereal include:
- Less than or equal to 30g carbs
- Less than or equal to 9g sugar
- Less than or equal to 3g fat, and
- Less than or equal to 1g saturated fat and 0g trans fat per serving based on a 2,000 calorie per day diet.
I thought you might be interested in sharing this information with your Daily Diabetic readers. If you'd like more information on Kellogg's Diabetes-Friendly Seal, or if you'd like to view the seal, please let me know. If you're interested in this additional information, I can be reached at 412-456-3745 or libby.krah@ketchum.com.
Regards,
Libby Krah
