Medtronic's Continuous Blood Sugar Monitoring Device
Medtronic MimiMed,Inc.'s Guardian RT Continuous Glucose Monitoring System is a new system that diabetic patients can wear wherein a sensor is connected to an insertion point, enabling blood sugarlinks measurements every five minutes.

Unlike the finger prick method of measuring blood sugar levels, the Medtronic Guardian RT Continuous Glucose Monitoring System allows for continuous day and night monitoring, letting the patient know the trend of his/her sugar levels: whether it is going up or down.

Another advantage of this device is that an alarm will sound to alert the patient when the blood sugar goes too high or too low (both deadly conditions) so he/she can take appropriate action: a life-saving feature even if the patient is asleep.

Here's a type 1 diabetes patient's account of using the Medtronic Guardian RT Continuous Glucose Monitoring System.

Call Medtronic MimiMed, Inc. for more information on this device at (800) 646-4633.
