High Diabetes Amputations in Britain

More than 2.3 million people in Britain have diabetes and an estimated 500,000 more could be suffering from the condition without realising it. If not managed correctly, the disease can damage the nerves and blood vessels that serve the limbs, eventually making amputation necessary.
Health campaigners are thereby saying that not enough is being done to prevent amputations in diabetes patients.

How can diabetes amputations be prevented? Mayo Clinic suggests:
To prevent diabetes complications, make a commitment to managing your diabetes. Eat healthy foods, include physical activity in your daily routine and keep your blood sugar under control.
