Gary Hall Jr., Ten-Time Olympic Medal Winner and Inspired by Diabetes Ambassador, To Host Clinic at Drew University's Second-Annual World Diabetes Day Swim-A-Thon

I am excited to tell you about an exciting event hosted by Gary Hall Jr., a ten-time Olympic medal winner. As you may know, Hall is an ambassador of the Inspired by Diabetes program, a global campaign asking people moved by the triumphs and challenges of those with diabetes and those who care for them to express their inspiration through art. The program also carries an important philanthropic component where for each entry Lilly donates funds to support charities that help children with diabetes.

On Saturday, November 15, Hall will host a swim clinic in conjunction with Drew University's World Diabetes Day Swim-A-Thon. The event, which begins at 10 AM with a two-hour clinic given by Hall, is followed by the swim-a-thon. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Gary Hall, Jr. Foundation for Diabetes, with a portion donated to the JDRF and Morristown Memorial Hospital. The theme for World Diabetes Day 2008 is 'Diabetes in Children and Adolescents.' The clinic will be held for children ages 8-18 years old, with specific emphasis on those afflicted with diabetes. An Inspired by Diabetes mural event will take place later that day.
