Females Over 40: Take Extra Precautions To Avoid Diabetes
Many experts agree that the most at-risk group for developing Type 2 diabetes consists of females over 40 years of age who are overweight. If you find yourself in this trifecta--as many women worldwide do--you may need to take special precautions.

Yet, even many women with a family historylinks of heart disease or diabetes don't know they need to eat a healthier diet and get more exercise to avoid those problems -- two of the nation's top killers.

"We think this is a very important new issue for women," said Audrey Sheppard, chief executive of the National Women's Health Resource Center. "There's very little awareness."

There are thousands of resources out there, whether it be through your doctor, trusted friends, libraries, or online, to help you adopt a healthier lifestyle and special precautions. We owe it to ourselves to be aware of these.
