Fabulous Diabetic: Halle Berry

Most people know about Halle's enormous talent, exquisite beauty, and well-deserved Oscar award. But many don't know that Halle is a diabetic who must take insulin every day.

Halle acquired Type I diabetes in childhood, and has lived her life with spirit and determination, rising to the peak of her profession while maintaining enduring friendships and the respect of those around her.

Halle has never let her diabetes slow her down; in fact, she has attributed her success to her diabetes. She once graced an audience full of actors with this delightful sentiment:"My teacher told me at the age of 10 that when I grew up, I was going to be given a gift. Diabetes turned out to be it. It gave me the strength and toughness I needed for my life."Thank you, Halle, for the inspiration and hope you provide. You are truly fabulous.
