'Diabetes Basics' Seminar at UTHCT
To help diabetics fully understand diabetes, medical professionals at The University of Texas Health Center at Tyler is conducting a free SecureCare seminar from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at the Ornelas Activity Center, 3402 Old Omen Road in Tyler.

Gerry Brown (a physician assistant in UTHCT's Center for Diabetes Care) and Karla Wallace (UTHCT Outpatient Dietitian) will discuss everything there is no know about diabetes, all about the diabetic's diet and understanding the blood sugar numbers.

Attendees of the 'Diabetes Basics" seminar are asked to bring their glucometers for a free evaluation.

Aside from the seminar, booths offering diabetes information (including tips on how to improve one's quality of life with diabetes) and free glucose screenings and diabetic footlinks evaluations (by reservation from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.) will be available.
