Diabetes and the Blogger

Filed in archive Blogs, Blogging & Blogosphere by Gloria Gamat on September 04, 2007

Most diabetes bloggers came to be because they are diabetics themselves and would like to make sense of their condition. And then by doing so, by blogging their life as a diabetic they are able to help others who maybe in the same condition.

Like Ken of Battle Diabetes Blog, who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 6 years ago.

Like I said in my introductory entry in this blog: I am no diabetic and my family do not have a history of diabeteslinks. However, I am a professional health blogger who intends to help, inspire and inform my target readers (in this blog's case, diabetes patients) everything they need to know about their condition.

In the process of blogging about diabetes, I have learned a lot about diabetes - the research, treatment and most importantly living with diabetes. Stuff I would never have learned about if I was still stuck working in an agricultural research laboratory.

I hope readers of this blog have benefited in some way as I have benefited in so many ways by blogging here.
