Treatment

Apparently the most commonly used complementary and alternative therapies in diabetes are nutritional supplements and herbal medicines.
If you are on an alternative/complementary diabetes treatment, have you discussed it with your endocrinologist? Did the endocrinologist agreed or adviced you to do it?
Because I agree with the experts that alternative treatment for diabetes is something that should be discussed and agreed upon with your doctor.
Why? Simply because even if some products may have benefits for diabetes patients, they can also have side effects that can harm you or they could have dangerous interactions with conventional treatments.
